Acute Lymphatic Leukemia

Acute lymphatic leukemia, or ALL for short, is a dangerous cancer of the blood that requires extensive treatment. Characterized by an excessive number of malignant and immature white blood cells clogging the bone marrow, it results in a decline in normal red blood cells. Without normal red blood cells, the body starts to break down, resulting in fatigue, infections, and anemia. Left untreated, ALL is fatal.

Treatment of ALL is difficult due to the body-wide nature of the illness. Unlike other cancers, there is no single tumor to remove, so ALL treatment is usually a combination of chemotherapy, steroids, and radiation therapy. Recent technology has made it so that bone marrow transplants and stem cells make it much more likely for you to survive ALL than was possible even twenty years ago.

If you believe that your ALL was caused by a workplace hazard, you may be able to press charges in a court of law. Benzene is a cancer-causing agent that has been suggested as a potential cause of acute lymphatic leukemia, and working in chemical production jobs can result in dangerous exposure to benzene.

If you think that benzene is the cause of your ALL and would like to seek legal compensation for your medical bills and living expenses, give us a call today at the Benzene Leukemia Legal Help Project.
